Using the appropriate diagnostic tools is one of the ways we help identify problems and help your pet get on the road to recovery.

We are very fortunate to have an in-house laboratory at Oak Valley Animal Health to help diagnose diseases and conditions. This is our first step to developing a plan towards recovery and wellness for your animal.

We are able to provide a variety of general lab work and urinalysis in-house, including the lab work for heartworm, canine parvovirus, and feline leukemia. When needed for more complex labs, we can collaborate and send labs to the laboratory at Iowa State University.

Ultrasound Technology

For both large and small animal patients, we have ultrasound technology. Ultrasound technology is a great tool, especially in pregnancy. We can use ultrasound to check the health of the mothers and babies and make sure pregnancies are progressing well.

Digital X-Ray Technology

We also have digital X-ray technology for our small animal patients. This allows us to take a closer, non-invasive look beneath the skin for broken bones and helps us to make sure we are making the correct diagnosis. If your pet seems to be limping or injured, this is a wonderful way to help us assess the situation.

All of our laboratory and diagnostic tools allow us to be more thorough and accurate in our diagnoses. These procedures are just another way we can help your animal stay healthy and happy.

If you have questions about our broad range of diagnostic services, don’t hesitate to call us or fill out an appointment request form. We’d love to talk to you about how we use our diagnostic services to provide better health for your pet.
